Mariana Caplan
Mariana Caplan is a psychotherapist, a yoga teacher, and the author of numerous magazine articles and six books in the fields of psychology and spirituality, including Eyes Wide Open: Cultivating Discernment on the Spiritual Path, Halfway Up the Mountain: the Error of Premature Claims to Enlightenment and The Guru Question: The Perils and Rewards of Choosing a Spiritual Teacher. The founder of The Yoga & Psyche Method and The Yoga & Psyche Conference, she leads workshops and trainings at major retreat centers, yoga studios, and universities throughout the world. She has been an adjunct professor at The California Institute of Integral Studies since 2001, and has also taught at Naropa, JFK, and Sophia Universities. In her psychotherapy practice, Dr. Caplan incorporates traditional and alternative approaches including: psychodynamic, gestalt, cognitive behavioral therapy, somatic, and dialectical behavioral therapy.
